The Portable Toxin Detector or PTD is designed for rapid gold standard toxin identification. It is a self-contained detector that is purposefully built for the automated as well as specific identification of toxins that correspond with various biological warfare agents (BWA).
The PTD utilizes the ELISA detection principle and a gold electrode Biochip which permits quick, definite and sensitive identification of 5 parallel toxins. Its comprehensive process including sample preparation and analysis can be finished in less than 25 minutes. It also features integration into sensor networks, ready-to-use kits for assay performance and extendable system for new biological threat agents.
