Lin Engineering The Nema 23 dampers from Lin has a durable construction and is designed to reduce resonance. The inertia produced by the motor step might cause an erratic movement in the motors. This damper, when added to the motor shaft, minimizes these oscillations and eases the motion. It generates a reduced step response that delivers an effective motor performance. The average motor settling time with a damper measures at 0.15 seconds. When a damper is installed, the settling time is reduced to 0.036 seconds generating 4 times less resonance.
