Moog's Multi-Axis Servo Drive (MSD) is an ideal system intended for a machine's increase in productivity and viability. It encompasses both modular and single-axis servo drive options, motion controller which is used for coordinating the motion across multiple axes, and common-shared power supply.


It is compactly made, suitable for 11.8 inch switch cabinet depth. It has its extreme small housing width specified for better switch cabinet usage. It is equipped to accept synchronized feedback from three encoders ensuring its distinct positioning capabilities. It offers a built-in safety functional drive controller as per EN 61508, EN 62061, EN ISO13849-1, IEC 61800-5-2.

The Moog Wind Turbine Pitch Servo Drive PITCHmaster II is an advanced interface used in most of Moog's pitch systems. It optimizes on and offshore wind turbines. The servo drive is individually integrated to the hub through its flexible ventilation structure.

It is also capable of withstanding high mechanical loads in the rotating hub due to its high tolerance to vibration and shock, therefore ensuring that the demands of the rotor hub are met. Other key features include an optimized emergency power unit connection as well as an integrated acceleration sensor that provides data on rotor speed, position and vibrations.

The PS 90 is a universal position control unit that is modular and offers flexible configuration to the application field. This powerful device is capable of controlling maximum 9 axes and is divided in two groups with three axes in each group. This design allows three 2-phase step motors or three DC motors to work simultaneously. Similarly, the linear motors can be operated this way.

An input for incremental encoder or position measuring system is available for high precise positioning tasks. The step motors also have an additional operator that helps the device to operate in loop mode. The control algorithm is designed in such a way that it enables operation of OWIS Hybrid series. For smooth and running resolution, it is equipped with micro-step mode with step motors.

By using the software program, the motors can be operated from full step up to 256 micro steps per full step. It can be operated in a standalone mode or with a joystick or keypad.
