The rice inspector is used to determine color of rice by shining light on each individual grain of brown or polished rice. It is based on principle of transparency/reflection, where a line sensor is used to determine shape and characteristics to categorize the sample into five classes. This device is capable of testing up to 2000 grains per batch at a rate of 12/Sec.
The percentages of each category are displayed on the screen and can be recorded with the help of an optional thermal printer. Users can even adjust the thermal levels. Rice can be analyzed in the production process for integrated control as well as batch characterization by using the principle of near-infrared reflectance.
Users are allowed to connect the central control unit and monitor them simultaneously with up to 2 measurement locations. The grain polishing and processing can be controlled readily by integrating the device with process control system.
