An optical matrix counter or quad count has been specifically designed for this application ensuring accurate counting and detection of broken tablets or capsules. The quad count detects tablets or capsules around 4 sides of the counting head increasing the count zone by 100% on conventional counters.

The RTC 200 rotary tablet counter is the latest generation of electronic counting technology. The rotary design offers positive container handling for tablet or capsule filling and counting. This is facilitated by transferring containers from the conveyor onto a central bottle starwheel set below a rotary counting turret. Each bottle is positively located under each counting head, filling and counting tablets and capsules while the bottles are rotating around the turrent. After bottles are accurately filled, they exit back onto the conveyor. Tablet or capsule sorting is achieved via 12 rotating disks mounted within the main turret hopper.

The VTC 80 model combines proven product feed technology with the latest electronic controls.
High speed infrared sensors scanning at 34,000 times per second are responsible for high accuracy counting of all tablets or oblongs and transparent soft or hard gelantine capsules. The count heads are virtually immune to dust and will count all products with high accuracy, from 2.5 mm in size.
Hopper tray sensors which continually monitor the product levels in the feed trays and switch the hopper feeder on and off accordingly.
Special trap boxes are incorporated into the system so that smaller counts are pre-dosed into the trap-box and then discharged into the bottle in one drop. This method allows counting to continue whilst bottles are indexed and results in higher speeds. All contact parts are designed to be removed quickly without any requirement for tools and by operators rather than engineers. Complete strip down can be done in minutes leaving all surfaces clear for wipe down.
