Hydrocyclone - 2 bar | ZY55-1-ZY55-4

Hydrocyclone cooling lubricant purification systems work wherever heavy dirt particles have to be separated from low-viscosity fluids, for instance in machine tools (particularly grinding machines). Also in machining centres, transfer lines or component washing systems.

Functional characteristics:
The fluid to be purified arrives in the cylindrical part of the hydrocyclone through the admission spiral at a pressure of 2 bar. The tangential arrangement of the infeed and the high flow speeds create a primary vortex rotating at high speed. The rotational speed increases continuously as the diameter of the conical housing reduces. The high speeds exert a centrifugal force on the dirt particles which are suctioned towards the wall of the cyclone and discharged with a small quantity of liquid through the underflow nozzle. The reducing cross-section of the cone housing increases the flow resistance, causing the sense of rotation of the primary vortex to reverse in the lower part of the cylinder. Maintaining its direction, the secondary vortex produced in this way travels upwards through the immersion tube into the clean water chamber. An air core in the centre of the secondary vortex aerates the coolant and so helps to prevent putrefaction.
