The MELSEC WS Safety Controller is a cost-effective solution designed for use with individual machines or small scale systems. This design features the best of two worlds, that is, it is a joint operation between Mitsubishi Electric and SICK AG and features a compact size that allows easy installation.

Configuration uses a graphic icon0based method in order to save on any necessary engineering time, while the safety function blocks simplify the program development and certification. WS can also be scaled up through the addition of extra I/O modules, when used in applications with more complex needs.

The CC-Link open network connection or Ethernet controller can facilitate full integration with standard control systems.

The FX3G is made for 14 to 256 inputs and outputs while using a high processing setup. This has eight special-function modules and is easy to program.

The FX1N is has 14 to 128 inputs and outputs and a fast processor for storing more items with care. It uses a sensible range for many functions and a real-time clock and user-friendly design. It can also manage analog signals.

Finally, the FX1S can use 10 to 30 inputs and outputs with a fast processor and more than enough space to store programs on the inside.

Modular PLC / rack-free - L series

The L series features a powerful modular and compact controller,
designed with a CPU that includes a large number of integrated
features. It is intended for use with mid-sized control applications
due to it's low cost, high performance and usability. The system is
highly flexible as it is designed without a rack.
The CPU includes a built-in Ethernet and Mini-USB interfaces,
a SD/SDHC memory card slot, and 24 digital I/O intended for simple
high-speed counting and positioning functions. In order to connect
to the open field network CC-link, the CPU comes with a CC-Link V2
Master/Local station.
In addition to the aforementioned functions the CPU can also be
upgraded with up to 10 extension and special function modules.

The iQ Platform MELSEC System Q is particularly useful for today's modern functions as it has automated features for PLC and motion technology in a setup. It uses a CPU that has a 9.5ns cycle time and an Ethernet port, self-diagnostic functions and an error history in the CPU.

This device can use 32MB of memory at the most and handle remote diagnostic and programming functions. It is all designed with a cycle-oriented data management setup with a data logger to make it more functional. It also uses smooth communication on the IT level through the MES and MES IT modules and uses PLC solutions to handle a secure network.
