Speed control damper - DVC-32

These Hydraulic Speed/Feed Controls DVC-32 offer continuous sped rates and can be ordered as ex stock or standard versions. They are bi directional and are easy to mount and render increased precise control of sped in either direction of travel. They also act as safety instrument to prevent sudden movement. They smoothly dampen swinging loads when used as a compensating feature on an application.

This lineup of hydraulic dampers are self contained and maintenance free and are a closed system unit that when used with a drive actuator, deliver uniform traverse speed. The damping cylinders of the DVC lineup are fitted with exclusive adjustment controls for the compression as well as the tension parts of the stroke.

Speed control damper - ADA series

ITT Enidine Inc. rate controls have been designed for regulation of speed or time necessary for movement of mechanisms between two positions. They provide superior performance using time-tested technology. They are suitable for controlling a range of applications such as linear slides, pneumatic cylinders, lids as well as other moving mechanisms.

Rate controls provide several advantages. Shocks and vibration caused to machinery by uncontrolled motion are minimized. As a result, machinery damage, downtime and maintenance-related costs are reduced significantly, while machine service life is increased. They moderate or eliminate all risks associated with uncontrolled machine operation, like vibration, noise, and damaging impacts. This leads to an improvement in production quality. Rate controls improve safety of machinery and equipment operators. They are provided with foreseeable, dependable and controlled machine operation.
With all these features, the controls offer a competitive advantage by increasing the value of machines and end products increases.

Speed control damper - DA series

ITT DA series rate controls are suited to heavy load applications. These rate controls that are used in pressure or compression jobs, like printing, come with multiple designs. On pressing the rate control, the compression check ball springs into action. When the piston head moves, the oil is forced out of the orifice holes located in the shock tube. Thus the required damping force is attained.

In this process, a part of the oil goes through the check valve and fills up the shock tube rod end. The oil left by the piston rod decreases the foam collect.

Rotary damper - -30 °C ... +95 °C (-20 °F ... +200 °F)

The rotary viscous dampers in this product series provide smooth control in various applications that require intermittent positioning, reverse, forward and fixed path motion. In addition to this, the RVD design combines low breakout friction with viscous damping, in order to control bi-directional rotary motion in various applications.

Each of the RVDs contain a solid, rotating element called a rotor. This rotor is surrounded by a thin film of silicon fluid with a sealed inside, providing resistance by shearing the silicon fluid and controlling the desired motion. Some of the more common applications this item can be used for include OEM office machines, tilt damping, roll feed control, as well as those in the amusement and mechanical industries.

Speed regulator - -40 °C ... +95 °C (-40 °F ... +200 °F)

These Viscous Speed Governors (VGS) are light but durable, and are appropriate for use in a wide variety of applications. These units use a silicone based viscous shearing technique to manage the rotation of shafts and hinged loads. The inner rotor is submerged in silicone fluid contained in the stationary housing, and during the shaft rotation the inner rotor shears through the viscous silicone, increasing resistance in promoting smooth operation. The degree of fluid viscosity is determined only after numerous variables have been taken into account, like the weight, size, spring assist, and anticipated cycle time. The unit is perfect for use with the rolling overhead and fire door control. When integrated into a retrofit, one VSG can be installed on a rolling door by mounting the unit to keyed door shaft according to the door's manufacturer specifications. The unit does not require adjustments during the install process or while in service in contrast to ratchet design systems. These units are able to govern the opening and closing speeds of a wide variety of large doors.
