IFM have designed and develop their newest line in ATEX protection. These newest set of inductive and capacitive sensors can be use in dust and gas areas of processing plants or industrial buildings. They are made of full metal and plastic robust housings that's been subjected to 4 joules shock test. These sensors are made according to the latest ATEX directives. They are easy to install, operate with low cost of maintenance.

The iFm Inductive ring and tube sensors consists of static and dynamic types that feature an even steel balls with 0.6mm for high resolution and a fast response time of 0.2 ms. Using a potentiometer, pulse stretching and sensitivity can be modified and choices can be made between normally open and closed versions.

In its static version, generation of a signal is present as long as a metal exist in the detection area. On the other hand, in its dynamic sensors, it is best used for detection of small parts and a short pulse is generated at the product of the sensor which is adjustable from 0.1 up to 150ms during a damping operation.

IFM inductive sensors are high vibration and shock resistant, making them sturdily built to withstand conditions in hazardous areas (particularly 2D, 3D and 3G categories). The threaded body and the sensing face of the sensor's housing from M12 to M30 are made with stainless steel. The sensor's rectangular design, with sensing ranges of up to 40 mm, also make the model ideal for conveying. Two LEDs visibly indicate sensing and operating states, even in adverse installation conditions. M12 ecolink connectors ensure a stable connection.

IFM inductive sensors come in both 3 and 4-wire versions.

IFM inductive slot sensors are IECEx and ATEX approved, that provides accurate area detection for organization and includes a standardized housing for convenient installation, a namur interface and a vast thermal range. Slot sensors applications are found on measuring devices for flow rates and pressure metering which ensures a non-contact and wear-free switching and are installed separately. Varying materials make up the target sensor. The sensor detects disc slots in a meter and identifies pointer counterweight area through slot sensors in a vane-type flow meter. A new inductive slot sensor, managed with 24 V outside ATEX areas, are approved for Category 1 ATEX dust and gas areas. It handles measurement instruments, valve boxes and fittings.
