HBM is a leader in developing transducers and strain gage based measuring instruments. It offers a variety of load measuring pins along with load cells. One can find standard as well as custom versions.
The primary application of this instrument is to measure load, overload and tension conditions. The normal shafts in the machines are replaced with load pins along with the load cells, which act as a direct component in an assembly.

It has a mild-steel engineering with nickel plated treatment for the 5718 edition and 17-4PH assembling for the 5798 edition, it has an IP68 safety certificate for the 5798. It is employed in many operations like draft detectors, crane scales, hopper weight-checkers, system processors and on-board vehicle weighing. It has its basis as the BCM high quality metal foil strain gauge mechanics, and the 5718/5798 load pins are made of the double-ended shear-beam functionality. The load pin is often utilized as a shaft of the detecting function when the middle component of the shaft intends to have a shearing shift in parallel to the two sides of the shaft, which is considered as two rigid components. The load pins can be employed to analyze the forces with a 10 kN to 800 kN spectrum, and a 0.2%fs precision.

They usually serve as a shaft of sensor function when the middle part of the shaft intends to have a shearing shift corresponding to the rest on the two sides of the shaft.

The load pins have the capacity range of 10 kN to 1000 kN with a 0.02% full scale of accuracy. Their storage temperature ranges from -35 up to 80 C while their operating temperature is between -35 up to 70 C.

The 5719 model is made up of a mild steel construction with nickel plated treatment while the 5799 version has 17-4PH construction. They are ideal for the applications that involve crane scales, draft sensors and many more.

The 6795 model is a load pin developed from the BCM 6798 tube-like pin, and has uses as a single-ended load transducer. The 6795 utilizes the bending beam principle, which allows for a high resistance to measuring errors caused by an eccentric load. The load capacity of this model ranges from 0 to 500kg to 0 to 50ton, with a measuring accuracy within 1% fs.

Many of the specifications are similar to those of the 6798 double-ended model. The 6795 has one end attached to an item where the load is applied and the other end attached to a stationary object. Environmental protection is provided with this series of pins up to an IP-68 rating, making the 6795 a good choice for harsh environmental applications.

The strain gauges are bonded on the inner surface of the tube-like pin before being wired to make the Wheatstone circuit. The tubular shape ensures a hermetic seal which makes the 6798 load pin capable of operating in harsh environments with its exceptional protection against the environment, to IP68.

In comparison with the 5798 load pins, the 6798 series uses the bending beam as opposed to the shear beam working principle. This offers increased resistance against the effect of eccentric loading. Operating like the BCM 5798 load pins, when the 6798 load pins are installed for carrying a load force, they act like double-ended load transducers. They can be used wherever a double-ended bolt or pin is needed to continually assess the load force on its middle position.
