The product is the KOBOLD Liquid Level Switch and the model is NWS. It works on resonance frequency or the principle of the tuning fork. The excitation and monitoring of the actual oscillation frequency will be achieved by a piezoelectric crystal. The switch can be used in various types of vessels and pipelines because of its two and three wire design. Changes in output signal are detected and represented electronically when the fork is immersed in liquid which operates the switch. With an option to connect the NWS to a PLC through a third terminal, the product operates as a 2 wire switch with the load. The special feature is the LED optical confirmation when the switch is in use in the correct condition.

BinMaster vibrating rods come with a unique single rod probe design that has a sword-shaped blade, preventing materials from bridging. This makes them superior to regular tuning forks. The design allows materials to easily flow through, preventing build-up on the blade. Features of the unit include a self-cleaning sensor, switch selectable high/low failsafe and auto sensing power supply that is able to accommodate 20-250V AC/DC.

These units come with three sensitive adjustments; high is used for lightweight, fluffy materials, while medium and low are for materials that are heavier or those that cling to the vibrating rod. The units are simple to install and can be mounted to a vessel though a standard 1.5" NPT mounting socket that does not require calibration. The remote electronics via a point level alarm panel are also available and alert to bin levels for four to 24 individual sensors.

With rigid 1" pipe extensions, the VR-41 also offers stainless steel or galvanized steel based on what it will be used for.

It can be custom made at the BinMaster’s factory based on client needs, and like the VR-21, has a special single-rod probe design with a sword-shaped blade that prevents bridging of materials making it a better choice for tuning fork designs, as it allows materials to easily flow by, preventing build up against the blade. Additional features include a self-cleaning sensor, a switch that is selectable having both low fail safe and auto sensing power supplies that cater to 20–250V AC/DC.

The VR-51 expanded vibrating rod utilizes a steel-rope strengthened cord that permits insertion lengths from 19 inches up to 19 feet. This pulsating rod with a versatile expansion is customized to the required length criteria at the BinMaster factory. It is used for top mount applications and can be utilized to diagnose components that are bulky, moderate or low-weight including the ones that are ultra light and fluffy.

The BinMaster vibrating rods VR-51 consist of a distinctive one-rod probe structure with a sword-like blade to resists the bridging of component and exceeding the “tuning fork” structures by permitting the free-flow of components. The other advantages include an independent cleaning sensor, switch selectable high/low fail-safe as well as an automated sensing power supply that can house from 20 up to 250 volts AC/DC.

The VR-21 SED and VR-41 SED are commonly used in the water and wastewater industries where the sensor is used to detect the level of salt, lime, chemicals, silt and sediment that has settled in tanks at water treatment plants. The VR-21 and VR-41 SED can also be used for other applications in food and beverage manufacturing, chemical or metal processing, pulp and paper making, and at mining operations. Applications include measuring sediment in brine tanks or soak tanks, detecting sand or silt that has settled in tanks at quarries or mines, timely removal of sand and dirt at pumping stations or measuring manure or compost that has settled in refuse vessels. Alternative uses include detecting the level of materials such as ash, carbon, lime, silt and mud once they have settled under water.
