Plastic washers and nylon washers have the ability to distribute the pressure in threaded fasteners like nuts and bolts. Plastic washers provide a sound surface so that nuts and bolts can be secured on or locked and sealed in position. Nylon washers insulate against moisture and electricity and resist corrosion, abrasion and most chemicals.
