The GE 1227a rubber-metal bushings feature an elastomer component made out of black NR and a galvanized steel tube with chrome finish. They can absorb axial loads, angular loads and twists, and feature sockets composed out of an elastomer part embedded (under high pre-loading) between two cylindrical metal tubes. They are used as zero-maintenance bearings for wheel suspensions, and rotary springs.
