The gasket LATTYgraf REFLEX consists of:

an active component made of expanded graphite to provide sealing efficiency,
2 precision-machined stainless steel outer rings used as compression limiters.

The specific pressure on the expanded graphite required to achieve gasket metal-to-metal contact and ensure tightness remains very stable. This stability at ambient and high temperatures is necessary for proper gasket operation when in metal to metal contact.

The LATTYgraf E2P is a High Purity Expanded Graphite that is specifically used in the nuclear and industrial applications in general. The compressed sealing rings are made of pure expanded graphite with a phosphate inhibitor for stem and stuff box corrosion protection. The maximum temperature, pressure, and speed given will not be associated with any case.

The graphite fiber gasketing with a unique manufacturing process minimizes cold flow and creep relaxation problems and is capable to withstand extreme temperatures, pressures and many chemicals. The gasket provides heat and oxidation resistance and passes Garlock Fire tests is ABS Fire Safe Type Approved. The gasket proves ideal for standard ANSI flanged connectors and turbine crossover piping connectors. It offers multiple applications in power generation, chemical processing, hydrocarbon processing, and other industries and works in steam*, oils, grease, water and heat transfer fluids+ media. Please contact Garlock Engineering with specific transfer fluid application.

The device features 4,800psi minimum recommended assembly stress and 6,000-10,000psi preferred assembly stress. Gasket thickness of 1/16" is strongly preferred. It is recommended to retorque the bolts/studs prior to pressurizing the assembly. For saturated steam above 150psig, consult Garlock Engineering.
