Graphite braided packing - max. 650 °C | 1400R
Chesterton's 1400R raneg of reinforced braided graphite tape packing is designed with a corrosion inhibitor. Carbon yarn reinforcement is present in the graphite tape yarn. It forms a homogeneous mass under gland pressure to hinder the penetration of leakage in the packing set. The set can resist higher shaft speeds, while also limiting shaft friction. When 1400R sets are installed in valves at higher pressures, the structural carbon fiber reinforcement avoids extrusion.
Its chemical resistance includes pH 0-14, except oleum, fuming nitric acid, and aqua regina chemicals.
