The gas turbine model KG2-3C & E have been successful in the past, but to meet increasing industrial demands and emission regulations, Dresser-Rand came up with an improved model type, namely, KG2-3G. KG2-3G is a highly efficient, reliable, simple gas turbine that requires low maintenance and delivers excellent operational experience because of which, it is ideal for emergency and standby power supply as well as continuous power generation in on- and off-shore industries.

KG2-3G can meet power requirements from 1 to 12MW. It covers a wide fuel range and has the capability to operate even on fuels with a very low heating value, such as the gas generated from crude oil production and landfill gas.

DR-61 was developed as a trustworthy power turbine for GE LM2500 gas generator. This heavy duty, mechanical drive turbine has an output shaft design speed of 5500 rpm. The heavy-duty industrial grade generator is the industrial derivative of CF6 high efficiency turbofan engine, similar to ones installed on wide-body airplanes.

Highly efficient, this is a two-stage power turbine can be bolted tightly to LM2500. As a result, the short power turbine inlet diffuser reduces total pressure loss, while improving on overall efficiency. Thermal distortion is prevented as all the components in the turbine casing are symmetrical unsplit rings from the gas generator discharge to the power turbine diffuser exhaust. Durability of two-stage rotor ensured with cooled discs and tip shrouded blades. The abradable honeycomb seals in the casing receive the tip shrouds with each cycle to minimize leakage.
