The idler pulley units are tensioning systems that are exclusively designed for return units and belt drives. They enhance the contact angle in belt drives, which allows it to render higher power values or use smaller sizes. They make up for belt stretching as a result of belt operation and make short center distances possible. With this, they are able to reduce the wear and tear of the belt drives.
These units are ready to install and consist of profiled sheet and deep drawn steel halves that are joined together with rivets, along with deep groove ball bearings. The pulleys with a large diameter are welded as well for reliability. Belt damage is prevented with the help of a lead chamfer that rests on the pulley profile. The added imbalances and rotating masses that are generated are small thanks to the sheet steel construction. The Type A is ideal for V-belts while Type B is recommended for V-belts, round belts and flat belts. Type D is best suited to hemp ropes, steel cables as well as round belts.
