The new EMB-STOP brake systems mainly convince by their high reliability and efficiency. They are a flexibleand clean solution for an extremely long operating period with low operating expenses and utmost safety of the plant.
EMB-STOP brake systems are available as an active floating caliper brake (floater) in two designs (with lever or gearbox, respectively) and three or two sizes, as a passive floating caliper brake with gearbox and Rotor Lock in two sizes.

The brake calliper S-A-F is designed with a floating calliper brake where the brake disk is fully free from axial forces. The drive train remains unaffected even during any misadjustment or a faulty installation. The bearing of the calliper is realized between springs for reason of supporting so that the brake disk is not blocked by the brake calliper to prevent the exclusion of a thermal overload. A bearing of the pistons in guide rings and the option the option to wear off the linings ensures long maintenance intervals and optimized operating expenses.
Short reaction periods offers short distance between brake pad and brake disc and low oil volume. The big pad surface results in small surface pressure, low wear of pads and low temperature. The brake is suitable for operation in rough conditions and the brake pads can be easily replaced. The brake is composed of few mobile components to ease maintenance process.

It offers various disc diameters up to 24 inches to ensure a torque up to 50,000 in lbs. A single disc uses several calipers to increase the torque. These brakes can handle discs of various thickness. They are used in cyclic stopping, tension control, controlled deceleration and emergency stop applications.

With continuous thermal dissipation, the brakes are able to stop more kinetic energy without overheating. They are available in two models that provide an exemplary torque from 1,080in-lbs to 1,800in-lbs and burnished torque from 1,300in-lbs to 2,160in-lbs, with release pressures of 55psi and 90psi and a maximum pressure of 120psi. Both models feature a top speed of 1,800rpm and zero backlash input.
