INA housing fixtures can be ordered in a wide range of designs such as take-up and flanged housing units and plummer blocks. They feature a ready to install design and are a blend of INA sheet metal housings or INA cast iron, where the INA radial insert ball bearings are embedded. To guarantee precise operation reliability and functionality regardless of the operating environments, the housing and bearing are matched to each other.
These INA housing units are able to sustain angular misalignment of the shaft (refer to compensation of misalignment's) thanks to the spherical housing bore and the spherical exterior surface of the bearing outer ring. Furthermore, these units are used mainly as locating bearings, but can also be utilized as non-locating bearings under reduced speeds and loads. The housings feature a screw mountable design on the adjacent structure, and reduced demanding tolerances are just enough for the screw mounting areas.

Having proved themselves in machinery, plant and other equipment, FAG housings and the associated bearings are used to form bearing arrangement units. Whilst the FAG bearing housings are predominantly constructed from flake graphite cast iron, housings which are made from spheroidal graphite cast iron or cast steel can be supplied by agreement.
Most housings do not have relubrication holes as the bearings are usually lubricated with grease and the initial charge remains effective over a long period of time. At the point it does need to be done, steps need to be taken to ensure that excess grease is able to escape.
