Extremely large through-hole
SCHUNK’s pneumatically actuated ROTA TB2 front-end chuck sets a new standard in machining of bars and pipes for the oil industry as well as the mining and construction sectors. Despite the compact outer dimensions, the ROTA TB2 has an extremely large through-hole of up to 560 mm. With air pressure of 6 bar it is already possible to achieve very high clamping forces of up to 280 kN, which can easily be adapted to the particular task. An anti-corrosive coating applied to the most important functional components of the SCHUNK ROTA TB2 significantly increases the service life. The base jaw guidances are equipped with a special seal to prevent penetration of contamination, dust and swarf, therefore reducing maintenance costs. In addition, an advanced lubrication system ensures constant clamping forces and particularly high process stability.
Faster clamping processes
To increase the processing rate in the machining of pipes and rods, the ROTA TB2 features a double acting check valve with extra large channel bores, which speeds up the clamping process considerably. After completion of machining an innovative sound-absorbing quick action ventilation system allows fast and low-noise release of the clamping setup. To operate the ROTA TB2, it only has to be connected to the existing compressed air supply. The integrated distributor ring eliminates the need for an additional rotary feed-through. An optional pressure sensor provides for maximum process reliability and operational safety in daily use.
