SL 654 C is a cutting material that comes with a multi-layer coating of TiCN/ TiN . It is a specialist cutting material for fresh gray cast iron castings. Machining is ideal when components are cast less than three days earlier. The tool life does not deteriorate when fresh castings are tuned on the lathe. Its wear resistance and hot hardness lead to increased cutting and higher removal rates compared to the traditional tools for machining gray cast iron. The SL 654 C cutting material has IKS-PRO notch-type clamping to ensure maximum clamping security.
