Hybrid forklift - 2.2 - 3.5 t, max. 7 780 mm | RX 70 series
Reduced CO2 emissions and energy consumption are possible with the new RX 70 hybrid diesel forklifts made by STILL GmbH of Hamburg. With a design based on the successful RX 70 diesel truck, these forklifts are the first true hybrids to come into series production. Two energy storage systems are provided by these forklifts. A diesel storage tank can be found on these devices as is another system. The latter is made of powerful double layer capacitors called 'Super Caps'. Located at the rear of the truck, these mechanisms are charged with the energy released when braking. The energy stored in the Super Caps is used to provide additional power when the truck is accelerating.
Any energy gained is used to power the driving mechanisms. A three-phase generator helps the electric drive motor channel the currents provided by the diesel engine.
