The Comau SMARTspray PTWA system is a turnkey solution that is for thermal spray applications. This may create cylinder bore coatings in a variety of forms. It is for liner-less aluminum engine blocks and can replace Nikasil hard chrome plating while adding corrosion-resistant coatings to cast iron cylinders. It may also restore worn bores in engines and components as these are being re-manufactured. The plasma transferred wire arc system has a feedstock on one wire that goes from a drum to the unit, thus keeping material expenses from being high.
