The IMA model C21 is an overhauled tea bag packaging machine which operates automatically. It is designed for non-heat-sealable, double chamber filter bags with string, folded tag and aluminium staple. The composition of lines is allowed by the machine which results in minimum operator intervention and reduced costs. With the delicate requirements of the tea bags considered in the design, the machine can pack tea and herbs into filter bags while preventing difficulties caused by different packaging styles. The machine comes in three versions for three different packaging styles: naked bags, crimped, and heat-sealed outer envelope. With a total installed power of 6,3 kW required for operation, a speed of up to 180 strokes/minute can be achieved by the naked bag and crimped models, while approximately 150 strokes/minute is achieved by the heat-sealed outer envelope model.
