This vacuum barrel follower plate is patented for use in A220/A280 systems (Scheugenpflug) for the purpose of feeding viscous dispensing media directly from a drum. During the docking procedure, this plate is able to prevent air from being absorbed, making it superior to conventional barrel follower plates. Material flow is further stabilized during the procedure as the material surface is smoothed. This prevents flaws right from the start of the process chain. The Scheugenpflug plates are constructed of polyethylene, which offers manufacturing and sliding characteristics that provide support to the production process. Even with the most frequently-used media, the PE material provides good surface compatibility. There is no contamination caused by encrusted material residues, as unnecessary material consumption is prevented.
