The Flottweg clarifier offers a two-phase separation for solids and liquids. The setup of the separators allows for highly-efficient clarification. The product to be clarified is taken through a stationary in-feed pipe into the interior of a bowl. There, the distributor gently accelerates it until it runs at the full speed of rotation. The bowl also features a disc pack which causes the stream from the product to be divided into multiple thin layers, thus creating a large surface area.
It is within the disc pack that the solids and liquids are separated. The solids are collected at the edge of the bowl because of the high centrifugal force after the separation process. As for the solids, these are periodically rejected at the full speed of rotation by a hydraulic system in the base of the bowl. The liquid is discharged under pressure, after it is clarified and sent to an impeller.

HGMF, a high gradient magnetic filter by Metso is used to recover para- and ferro-magnetic materials that come from waste waters and slurries. These filters use a one-of-a-kind magnetic system which emits magnetic fields that reach to 2T or 20000 Gauss.
It is highly-effective in removing corrosion particles, such as iron and copper, from its boiler condensate. It maintains efficiency even with different flow rates and contaminated flows.
This machine is also used in enhancing plant thermal efficiency, processing high temperature condensates in high pressure boilers. Aside from removing corrosion particulates from the condensates during upset conditions, it also processes these boiler condensates that are even hotter than those accepted by most resin bed polisher machines. With this machine, there is a decrease in loss of heat values and condensate during production problems. It decreases the buildup of particulates such as copper and iron in its boilers, increasing the time span needed between boiler cleanings.
