The High Linearity Upconverting Mixer LT5579 from Linear Technology is a high-performance mixer for upconverting and downconverting, specially designed for frequencies in the range of 1.5GHz to 3.8GHz. The board layout is simplified by the single-ended LO input and RF output ports, which further reduces the system cost.

The mixer needs only 1dBm of LO power and the balanced design results in low LO signal leakage to the RF output, which translates into a lower LO signal contamination of the output signal. It offers a high-performance alternative to passive mixers by delivering conversion gains at lower LO input levels and being less sensitive to variation.
