Wireless LAN (WLAN) controller - REC601
The solution based compact device for monitoring and controlling of secondary substations for instance load break switches and network connectors remotely, ABB's wireless controller REC601 is used. Secure end-to-end communication and the built in GPRS facilitates stable controlling and monitoring of a single object remotely. Safety is taken care of due to the utilization of the heater control to control the effects of variations of ambient temperature, protection of overload of actuator motors by addition of safety features, unbroken self supervision of software and hardware, and functions for advanced maintenance of battery. The features added in the wireless controller include the built in battery charger, ideal monitoring and control, and support for IEC 60870-5-101 sub devices' event polling.
