This equipment is known as the Tone Generator. It is a handheld and battery powered device that has been engineered for performing a various checks and tests on zero-energized LAN cables or telephone lines. It is also capable of identifying tones up to 12 inches away, under ideal conditions.This equipment comes with Alligator clips and a standardized RJ11 plug that permits the connection of tone generator to terminal panels, stripped wires, modular single line jacks or wall plates. There is also a Cable Tracer that helps in identify and locating wires without tearing through the insulation.
Tone Generator is able to trace the signals even through the wood, dry wall, or any other kind of non-metallic surfaces. It renders warbled tone with selected test frequencies and displays correct information over its LED panel as per the polarity status.
