Messtechnik presents LRS 3 ultrasonic distance sensor. The sensor includes an ultrasonic sensor head and a basic unit featuring a built-in display and function key. The LRS 3 includes a latest circuit technology and programmable functions. These features make the sensor an ideal choice for measuring non-tactile distance and thickness.LRS 3 offers a vast measurement range and high precision at the physical limits. For ranging, ultrasonic wave packages are emitted and detected in air. The sensor features a quick-response foil transducer. This is useful for calculating how much time the ultrasound takes to travel from the sensor to the object and back.
LRS 3 provides an excellent resolution of more than 0,01 mm. The only key to accurate measurement is uniformity of air. It can measure all types of objects made of different materials such as concrete, stone, metal, plastic, wood, paper and glass. The sensor can also detect highly sound absorbing materials such as foams, textiles and insulation mats, regardless of their surface structure.
