Incremental linear encoder / high-resolution - 0.5 µm, 125 in | 9717
GURLEY Precision Instruments Model 9717 incremental encoder gives direct measurement of linear position or speed without touching the reading head and the glass scale. Use of encoder with HR2B or HR2C interpolator offers electronically amplified optical resolution and the output is generated as quadrate square waves plus index from RS422 differential line drivers.
The encoder gives unbuffered phototransistor output sinusoids. Quadrature square waves, gated index, and built-in "watchdog" self-test data is sent via RS-422 differential line drivers for generating digital output signals or increased resolution. Output square waves exist at 20 times the line count on HR2B scale or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 16, or 25 times the line count on HR2C.
