This meter is capable of determining the power of laser or LED light sources. It is also designed to measure fiber optic cable attenuation when using a stable light source. The meter is able to measure two wavelengths and display the results in dBm or iW with the use of microprocessor technology.
When the device is switched on, a zero adjustment is automatically carried out. Another feature is the interchangeable adapter system that allows for connection of the most commonly-used optical fiber connectors.

Newport OMM-6810B series optical power and wavelength meter gives an option to choose from power only or power and wavelength measurement heads, covering a source wavelength range of 350 to 1650nm and optical power from -50dB to + 45dB. The measurement heads are calibrated to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) traceable standards.
OMM-6810B uses ILX Power/Waveheads for measurement of power and wavelength (up to 10W). The use of integrating sphere technology makes it possible to measure power up to 30dBm.
OMM-6810B is one-of-its-kind with the capability to measure optical power and wavelength of semiconductor lasers, including short wavelength lasers, high power pumps, and fiber lasers. The meter also features heads for free-space and fiber measurement.
Along with precision power and wavelength measurements, the OMM-6810B has a host of other features such as log/linear display modes, auto ranging, user calibration, and capability of reference measurement. The features, along with an analog output and IEEE-standard GPIB interface, make the meter an economical tool for development and production testing of laser diode.
