The Model 296, manufactured by Erichsen, is a wet and dry film thickness gauge with measuring range of 0 - 500 μm in 5 μm divisions. The change in the level between the substrate and the film surface is measured upon the contact point of the dial indicator. The contact point is elevated by the knurled screw and is lowered when there is physical contact with the outer part of the wet film.
