Tension load cell / stainless steel - 5 - 20 t | T20
Riels Instruments These load cells are based on the same principle as dynamometer functioning, namely the induction of voltage in the cell proportional to the stress or force applied on the cell, and the conversion of the voltage into an electrical signal via strain gauges. The maker has a wide range of load cells because of the variety of applications in which they are put to use. For instance, there are cell compression, traction cells, cell-way, off-center and so on. All of these are laser-welded to protect the body seal and to prolong the service life of the device.

The compression load cells are in widespread use in all conditions subject to load in one direction of compression, such as weighing silos, motor vehicle weighing platforms and others for motor vehicles, but also in many other applications. Unidirectional bending load cells are represented by the popular F1 cell that is in use in industrial environments and boasts a fully laser-welded bellows. Traction cells are only subject to traction forces.

The family also includes dynamometers or load cells for overhead cranes or hoppers. Bidirectional load cells are used for situations where the applied force is either compressive or tractive. Such applications include moving mechanical parts, such as pistons or, for dynamometers, machines, materials testing machines and so on.
