Siemens SIWAREX R RN bending ring load cell is useful for conveyor, container, roller table scales and platform applications. A stainless steel bending ring serves as the measuring element. The upper and the lower ring faces have two spirals applied to them. These are used for measuring of expansion.
The centrally acting load in the direction of measurement influences the bending ring to tilt. In other words, there is a reduction in the diameter of the upper ring face and there is an increase in the diameter of the lower ring face. This causes an elastic deformation of the bending ring, along with the friction-locking installed spirals. As a result, measuring signal voltage proportionate to the load is generated.
