Angular-contact spherical plain bearing

Angular-contact spherical plain bearing
SKF Angular contact spherical plain bearings are specially designed with sphered sliding surfaces on the inner side while arranging the outer ring at an angle to the bearing axis. The bearing proves particularly suitable for carrying combined (radial and axial) loads. A single angular contact spherical plain bearing is designed to carry bearing loads that are acting in one direction. When under radial loads, the bearing produces force acting in the axial direction which is to be opposed by equal force acting in the opposite direction due to which the bearings are usually adjusted against a second bearing.

The arrangement of a pair of contact spherical plain bearings with coinciding of the spheres centres, produces a spherical plain bearing capable of accommodating heavy radial loads and heavy axial loads in both directions. Sliding contact surface combination steel/PTFE composite is the standard method of producing SKF angular contact spherical plain bearings
