Straight point tap / through-hole - CoroTap 200
CoroTap 200 are spiral point taps used for through holes and can push chips forward. They are considered the toughest tap designs because they have shallow flutes. The flutes are not for chip evacuation. They are used only for cutting fluid. Chamfer B has 3.5-4 threads needed for high process security.It has edge treatment for reduced torque and axial force which reduces the risk of edge chipping, improves chip formation, tool life and surface quality and makes the product run smoothly. It also has high-speed steel taps for improved tool life, wear resistance and strength.
There are three coatings used. The CoolTop coating combines good wear resistance with high hardness. The SmoothTop coating is applied for low adhesion and friction. The Steam Temp acts as a surface protection, prevents cold welding and is a good carrier of lubricants because only tough and flexible materials are used.
