Shim with aluminum frame
Aluminum shims are fabricated either from aluminum or aluminum alloy, providing a lighter and more corrosive-resistant material, compared to standard carbon steel-fabricated washers. These shims are designed in several shapes and a maximum dimension of 12 x 12. They are designed with varying thickness ranges of .005 to .134. Standard-made shims are constructed from aluminum as well.
