Highly precise speed regulation, fast bi-directional rotation and low-speed rotation are provided by the low-speed synchronous motors. The low-speed synchronous motors have a basic construction to match that of stepping motors. They are sometimes referred to as AC stepping motors as they can only be driven by an AC power supply.
