Manufactured by Beckhoff, the AM30xx are synchronous servomotors with pole-wound motor. The AM30xx is characterized by it stator that is wound inside through a needle winder instead of being wound outside the housing. It offers an estimated 25-30% higher performance through its thinner wire insulation resulting from the copper wire being in close contact with the iron core.

Additionally, it has an extremely low moment of inertia and a great overload capacity. To eliminate air between the wire caused by high air thermal resistance, the winding is sealed. It also has a rotable plug connectors and terminal box for AM308x.

New motor technologies help in producing enhanced dynamic motors with lower inertia. Almost all motor developments strive to achieve extra torque with a compact design along without reducing the size of the loads. In fact the motors are expected to carry higher amount of loads.

The motor design requires the torque to be calculated which helps to measure the mass inertia ratio from the quotient of reduced load moment of inertia and rotor moment of inertia of the motor.

This mass inertia ratio should be limited to 5:1 and in case of more than 10:1 ratios, the motor needs to be redesigned. Calculation the external inertia is made by the CYMEX design software and the mass inertia ratio is automatically taken after motor selection.

BECKHOFF synchronous servomotors of the AM2000 series offer high-quality performance. Rotors have low moments of inertia, with great overload capacity, and have neodymium permanent magnets that ensure high dynamics. Nominal mains voltage is 400/460 V. The motors contain two-pole hollow shaft resolvers and can have an optional holding brake (24 V DC) locks the motor when power is stopped. Once released, the brake ensures rotation without residual torque. Also, they contain integrated temperature sensor for monitoring of coil temperature, and an integrated resolver for feedback information. Dimensions are according to DIN 42955, vibration class N according to DIN ISO 2373, insulation material class F according to DIN 57530, style IM B5 according to DIN 42950, and are in accordance with IP54 and IP65 protection standards.
