The Explosion-proof X Series of explosion-resistant, industrial-use gear units are helical-bevel, as well as helical gear units (with up to 475 kNm torque) designed, developed, and manufactured by Sew-Eurodrive. These gear units not only fulfill, but exceed the pre-requisites set by group II, category 3D, or 2D, which are possible dust explosion-prone atmospheres, as well as 3G, or 2G, which are possible gas explosion-prone atmospheres. These particular gear units manufactured by Sew Eurodrive are capable of operating in both zones 22, and 2, as well as zones 21, and 1. In addition to exceeding international product standards, most, if not all European countries already make use of the Explosion-proof X Series in order to meet with international industrial gearhead standards.
