The Delphi Smart Injector, used in medium and heavy duty diesel engines, is an electronically controlled high pressure diesel fuel injector that is specially designed to be combined with the Delphi’s electronic Unit Pump (EUP). This is to provide a complete high pressure fuel delivery system for "cam in block" engines or engines that have separate cam blocks. The injector’s nozzle control valve is controlled electronically to aid in the reduction of fuel consumption and increased performance. The Delphi Smart Injector is designed to assist manufacturers in adhering to the most stringent emission regulations. Benefits of the high pressure injection of up to 2,500 bar for optimum combustion along with reduced after treatment. With its lightweight and compact body, it allows for flexibility in packaging and availability of a wide range of high pressure nozzle options.
