Through coolant tool-holder / lathe
Sandvik Coromant's improved CoroTurn HP high pressure coolant system features a lengthy tool life and superior chip control. This specialized combination of both Coromant Capto and CoroTurn HP devices help control the machining potential of high pressure coolants. This not only improves the productivity rate but also increases tool life by up to 50%. Coolant is channeled through the spindle or turret using a coupling. It is then precisely positioned on the spot that needs it the most, although this step is impossible when using shank tool holders. Any machine outfitted with high pressure coolant and Capto coupling can use this new system, such as multi-task machines, vertical turning lathes and turning centers.
The heat effect zone is penetrated by the CoroTurn HP mechanism using a high-pressure coolant jet through the small nozzles. This provides excellent chip control and the inserts cool quicker and more effectively.
