Electric straddle carrier - 20 - 400 t | EVA series
The highlights of Eden Technology's EVA range of electrically powered straddle carrier that make it stand out in the heavy-duty industrial handling equipment are: an electrically powered travel and lifting drives and an actuator free steering system that will not mount conventional steering mechanisms. The carriers are able to save between 18 to 22 % of energy when compared to conventional hydraulic carriers. There is an overall reduction in the systems involved and the fitted installations, there is savings on the cost of running it and there is also improved reliability. The credit for this would go to the usage of simpler components that are electric. This high-energy performance is backed by a diesel motor which is able to produce electricity using an alternator.
