Aramid tape - Twaron®
This is the new kind of Twaron tape that is introduced by Teijin Aramind. This is a strong and slim ribbon which is made out of aramind - fiber. This tape comprises of a single spread - aramind yarn that is fixed and impregnated using a matrix material. The width of this tape is 2.9mm, has got thickness of 100Mm and length of 25 km normally. The mechanical property of it is equal to that of aramid yarn with high modulus. It is mainly used for covering the optical fiber for providing better protection to it's core. Tape should be wrapped evenly around core for getting better coverage and also to protect it from any crush or force. It is capable of providing better resistance towards crush compared to aramind fiber.
