SCHUNK MPG-plus 2-finger gripper for small parts is a high-precision version. It has been designed for use in assembly automation of electronic and small parts. This version enables accurate positioning of some of the most delicate components. During changing of the gripper, this high-accuracy version provides precise parallel positioning, eccentricity, and uniformity of height. This results in time savings by ensuring elimination of fine adjustments or reteaching.
MPG-plus provides high efficiency in a compact design. The efficiency is further improved by the oval piston drive and guidance with very low friction. This makes it the most advanced 2-finger small component gripper in its class. It also has high force and moment load. This provides more gripping forces and longer gripping fingers, while eliminating the need to increase the size.
In comparison to the previous MPG version which supported size 50, MPG-plus supports size 40. The highly efficient gripper provides 25% higher gripping force and 30% more load rating. It also provides
gripper fingers, which are 50% longer and 10% reduction in weight.
These features combined result in a gripper with increased dynamics.
