The EGM Magnetic Gripper is highly capable of handling ferromagnetic workpieces without tampering with the contours. The EGM has permanent magnets that are not pneumatically actuated but uses electromagnets unlike the other magnetic grippers in the market. This makes the EGM more process reliable and energy-efficient. It only requires a short electric pulse for actuation and deactivation and the workpiece can be secured in place during emergency stops. It has versatile workpiece handling and quick set-up time. It is capable of handling various types of workpieces in alternation since it has no gripper fingers to interfere with the workpiece shape. It can access five sides of the workpiece for machining. It can easily adapt to various applications because it is equipped with adaption options for standard robots and has variable number of magnet pole pairs.
