Worldwide consideration is that chlorine compounds are the most important water disinfectant class as to their quantity. They are used in numerous applications ranging from drinking water generation to swimming pool water disinfection to industrial water treatment, such as cooling and process water treatment.

There are numerous ways to lead the chlorine compounds into the water. These include the dosing of chlorine gas, dosing of sodium hypochlorite, dosing of chlorine gas and ammonia (chloramination), dosing of organic chlorine-containing disinfectants (such as isocyanuric acis derivatives), and electrolytical generation from chloride.

The WGD Burner, manufactured by Eclipse Low NOx, is a compact, water-cooled burner designed to be inserted to into the port neck of regenerative glass furnaces. It uses a different kind of arrangement in gathering flat jet nozzles.
