These exhaust gas heat exchangers by Bowman are constructed with stainless steel tubes, bodies and tube plates, as well as cast iron end covers. This design allows them to be used with natural gases, diesel gases and even biogases.

The exchangers are made to handle the removal of heat from an engine exhaust gas. Once it is removed, the heat is transferred to the water circuit. When used in conjunction with other Bowman units such as the charge air coolers, header tank heat exchangers and oil coolers, there is a possibility to reclaim as much as 60% of the lost heat from the engine. It is also possible to decrease the exhaust temperature in engines that are operating in harsh environments.
