Dantorque actuators are subsea actuators ideally utilized in subsea applications such as marine, offshore, and oil and gas markets. Besides being cost-effective, these actuators are compact. Their economy comes from the unique design with significantly reduced dimensions and weight. The Dantorque DTU type double acting actuator has a basic operating principle which involves the 90 degree rotation of the helical splined piston skirt, during the up and down stroking of the piston between its stops. Hydraulic energy is converted into a rotation by the DTU actuator, producing an output torque which is proportional to the applied pressure. Throughout the stroke of the actuator, the output torque remains constant.
